Sandeep Gopisetty graduated from Santa Clara University in 1991. He immediately joined the IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California and was part of the OS/2 core application development team. In early 1992, he joined the Image Processing group and has been working on improving character segmentation and recognition for hand print and machine print images.
Currently, Gopisetty is a senior programmer in the Computer Science department. He was responsible for building the Intelligent Character Recognition System and providing an application program interface (API) for easy integration to various applications such as IRS tax forms processing, Maryland state tax forms processing, Blue Cross health forms application processing, census, and postal flats and parcels.
Most recently, Gopisettys focus has been on,building a video coding system for postal applications and on an autonomic storage resource manager for SAN and IP networks. He is also responsible for building CASA, a home entertainment solution for growing digital content, and for architecting the Tivoli SAN manager.
Gopisetty is the recipient of several IBM awards including an Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for Character Recognition and a Supplemental Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for Character Recognition. He is also interested in Object Oriented Systems, Java, C and C++ programming, and distributed database systems development.
